Our partners
AgroParisTech is French's top graduate engineering school for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences. The three of us are students in AgroParisTech, actually doing a gap year.
¿Hablas Tortuga? befenits of the support of our teachers and tutors, who advised us in the leading of our project. Thanks to AgroParisTech, we also have a great network of students.
Our idea came from the meeting with Aurore and Léa, two girls from AgroParisTech, who had been in Panama to help Tortugas Pedasi, an association that is fighting for the protection of turtles in Panama. They told us about the drastic situation with the consumption of turtles eggs, that is the first threat to sea turtle species in the country. They made talks in three schools, and observed the efficiency of these meetings. Most of the pupils didn't even know the meaning of "extinction". Other schools in Panama asked Tortugas Pedasi to come back. The association is supporting our project, they help us in the contact with the schools. We are going to work for one month in Tortugas Pedasi's coastal area.
Agua y Tierra Foundation is located in Veraguas, in Panama south peninsula. It develops programs and projects that aim to recover, protect and maintain Panama's natural ressources. In addition to the classes, we will help the foundation members to build a vivarium for the turtles.
